This ride is now done! I raised $5000 for Action For Aids as part of a larger drive which raised in excess of $100,000.

Action for Aids which is a registered charity in Singapore. Their website is here.

AIDS Education and reduction of the cost of medicine for people with AIDS.

2003: We left Singapore on May 31 by bus to KL. The next day, we leave on our bikes from the Petronas twin towers. We will arrive in JB on June 7th and then cycle to Singapore June 8th.

What is the Route?
See the map below. The 1000km route took 8 daysriding 5-7 hours per day.

Did you have to train?
Of course! I trained 4-5 hours per week on weekdays (in the gym) and did one long ride every Sunday (80-150km). Nevertheless, I was totally unprepared for the first hills that hit me outside KL. Neither was my butt prepared for 8 hours a day in the saddle. It was nasty.

How can I participate?
If you want to cycle or be part of the support team, check out the AFA website for the next ride in 2005
